Local Area - Ventnor

Ventnor on the South coast of the Isle of Wight, is a traditional seaside resort, offering everything you need from safe sandy beaches, pretty coves, pubs, restuarants and bars. Ventnor is on of Britain's most famous Victorian health resorts due to its unique micro-climate. It boasts an all year round climate, never too hot because of the cooling sea breezes and never to cold as it is sheltered from the cold North Winds.

The town boasts beautiful views to the south across the English Channel and you can relax outside one of the many pubs and resturants along the esplande and take in the view. The town also lies beneath St Boniface Down, the highest point on the Island and is mostly built into the side of a steep hill leading down to the seafront and beach.

St Maur is conveniently situated in Ventnor, only a 15 minute stroll away from the town centre, esplanade, Steephill Cove and Botanical Gardens. The award winning Ventnor Park is just 5 minutes walk from St Maur and from here you can access the scenic cliff path walks where you can venture several miles in either direction.  There are also wonderful walks of the downs close by and and you can explore futher into Wroxall, Godshill, Shanklin or NIton and beyond.
