September 2017 - TBC
Taking place each September, the Isle of Wight Cycling Festival provides cyclists with the opportunity to get off the beaten track and experience some of the Island's most beautiful, unspoilt countryside. Lonely Planet has named the Isle of Wight as one of the best places to cycle in the world and the Isle of Wight Cycling Festival provides the perfect opportunity for you to find out why.
There's a fantastic variety of rides available for all skill levels, so whether you're a regular cyclist or an infrequent rider, there are plenty of routes to choose from. The festival encompasses popular events such as the 70 mile Cycle the Wight, Chevy Chase Enduro, Hills Killer mountain bike challenge, the West Wight Triathlon and Wightlink Wight Challenge.
Festival of the Sea
June 2017 - TBC
The Isle of Wight Festival of the Sea will be dropping anchor again from 18th June - 3rd July 2016 with an exciting range of sea themed events, activities and promotions happening across the Island; there's plenty for sea farers and landlubbers alike!
Events across the festival period will include musical events, food shows, cookery displays and food-tasting, opportunities to charter boats, open days, tours and talks, all with a seaside theme. This year's festival includes the fabulous La Solitaire du Figaro yacht race and Round the Island Race!
19th - 20th August 2017
Set against a beautiful backdrop of rolling green hills and farmland, the Garlic Festival is located just outside of Newchurch at the heart of the stunning Isle of Wight. Our show is food and entertainment at its very best. A vast array of eats, sights and sounds to suit all tastes and ages.
The Isle of Wight Garlic Festival is the islands biggest summer show and simply the best day out for all the family. Entertainment includes:
Huge garlic marquees featuring cookery demos all day long. 100's of arts and craft stalls, businesses and mouth watering food. Local produce to tempt your taste buds. Talented animals and arena entertainment. Live music. Children's entertainers, archery and giant fun fair.
Isle of Wight Festival
8th - 11th June 2017
Starting the summer in style, the award winning Isle of Wight Festival takes place in June every year in the town of Newport and is steeped in history and recognised around the world for its line-up, mixing legendary artists with the hottest up and coming acts. The Festival is famed for its heritage and as the UK's first major music event of the summer; it gives festival goers a line up to love.
The dates for the Isle of Wight Festival 2016 have been confirmed as 8th to 11th June 2017. The line-up so far includes Arcade Fire, Rod Stewart, David Guetta, Run DMC, Bastille and many more. For the latest line-up info check out the event page.
Round the Island Yacht Race
1st July 2017
The JP Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Yacht Race is sailing's answer to the London Marathon as 1600 boats, crewed by some of the biggest names in sailing as well as keen amateur sailors, skim past The Needles, the Island's distinctive rocky structure, round St Catherine's Point and Bembridge Ledge and back into the Solent.
Watch the yachts round the Needles rocks and enjoy a hearty breakfast in the Needles Old Battery Café.
6th - 11nd August 2017
V-Dub Island a family friendly VW Festival for VW enthusiasts and like minded People.
Parents will be pleased to learn that the V-Dub Island Site is gearing up for those of you with young families this year. As well as a much larger beach area and children's play area, there's also a new 45ft slide being shipped in too! The skate ramp is also growing this year; the Wight Trash team are plotting some new concepts to showcase their crazy stunts and tricks.
Don't miss the awesome drive-out to the beach, and don't forget to pack your surfboard, either! Hundreds of VWs all heading for the beach... it's truly an amazing sight!
The Ventnor Fringe
8th - 13th August 2017
The Ventnor Fringe is a unique celebration of the arts, showcasing emerging and established talent across every creative discipline. Each year it attracts more than 300 performers from across the world that together transform Ventnor into a wonderland of pop up bars and secret venues.
Take the pilgrimage and enjoy a midnight 'lock in' at the Library, 'pop up' cinemas, basement bars, pianos in the streets, gigs in locals' houses, mystery tours, woodland sing-alongs and intimate church shows in and around eclectic hillside town of Ventnor on the southern tip of the beautiful Isle of Wight.
Isle of Wight Walking Festival
29th April - 14th May 2017
The Isle of Wight walking festival has grown to become the biggest walking festival in the UK and Europe, with over 250 walks taking place as part of the main event in May and another 70 plus walks in its autumn edition - the Autumn Walking Weekend which takes place in October.
The Walking Festival features a variety of walks and accompanying events that include celebrity appearances and talks, heritage walks and trails and fossil hunting excursions along the coast of the UK's official “Dinosaur Capital”.
Whether it's a taking a walk in the footsteps of historic literary figures, or revisiting the site of the famous 1970s music festival, the Walking Festival has it covered.
Rhythm Tree Festival

The Isle of Wight's most original, fun-filled, family friendly festival returns to Calbourne for its 7th consecutive year. With an unsurpassed reputation for bringing together a diverse, rich mix of high quality music and family entertainment, Rhythmtree Festival 2017 will showcase an increasingly diverse range of music with musicians from the Island, UK and beyond.
This safe, friendly, family oriented festival is held in beautiful, tree surrounded farmland, close to the West Wight Heritage Coast at Three Gates Farm on the Isle of Wight.
Robin Hill 'Electric Woods'
27th January - 26th February 2017

A stunning spectacle of Oriental themed light, sound and entertainment will mark the Chinese New Year at Robin Hill's award-winning 'electric woods' during February half term. From Saturday 13th until Sunday 21st February, visitors can experience the park's mystical woodland illuminated with a far eastern twist to capture the spirit of one of the world's most popular celebrations.
As Autumn falls, Robin Hill's electric woods' presents the Festival of Light, a stunning spectacle of creatively themed light, colour, sound, and entertainment inspired by the Hindu Festival of Diwali where 'light triumphs over darkness'. As darkness falls, visitors can experience the lush colours, flavours and magic of the Asian sub-continent set in Robin Hill's glorious autumnal ancient woodland as the spectacular 'electric woods' captures the spirit of the most popular festival in the Indian calendar.
29th July - 5th August 2017
Cowes Week is an 8 day sailing regatta that take place each August on the Isle of Wight. It is one of the longest-running sporting events in UK history, dating back to 1826 when the regatta first took place with a fleet of only seven boats lined up on the start line!
Cowes Week today attracts up to 1,000 boats, and is the world's best-known sailing regatta. During the event the Solent makes for a truly spectacular sight, with 100 year old wooden dayboats sharing the waters with ultra-modern machines made of carbon fibre, and with small dinghys racing alongside maxi yachts. The atmosphere across the town of Cowes is transformed into that of a festival during Cowes Week, with 100,000 spectators who come to watch the sailing and enjoy the parties and live entertainment.
The event is completely free to attend as a spectator and many of the races of the races can be enjoyed from the shore.
